Gansevoort getting billed for excessive noise!

Neighbors of the ritzy Park Avenue Gansevoort are suing the hotel for being kept awake from the late night partiers.

Six residents on Park Avenue South sent official looking invoices to the hotel with each $1000 an hour for lost sleep. Neighbors claim drunk revelers, idling limousines and honking cab drivers keep them awake past 4AM.

“It’s a circus; the situation is absolutely unbearable,” said Mario Messina, an ad executive who based the $1000 figure on his professional rate. The residents said the mock bills which add up to $21,350 for a week in April alone are meant to send a message to the hotel.

The invoices feature spread sheets columns for hours, rates and amount owed to the Murray Hill residents who are being kept up until the wee hours by the Gansevoort Rooftop Saturday night parties. The neighborhood group has begged community board members, police and hotel management several times to reduce the noise. Police from the local 13th Precinct helped restrict parking in front of the hotel to alleviate traffic congestion and noise. V.I.P limos and town cars frequently ignore them blocking lanes of traffic outside the hotel.

Drunken partygoers spill out onto the street at all hours of the night blocking the sidewalks and making lots of unwanted noise.
