Bouncer Chronicles mourns the loss of New York Giant great Frank Gifford, who died this week at the age of 84.  A star football player and broadcaster for Monday Night Football, he died suddenly of natural causes at his Connecticut home, according to a statement made by his family.  Gifford was married to TV personality Kathy Lee Gifford and is survived by his 5 children.

He was one of the NFL's best and most versatile players in the late 1950's and early 1960's.  He played mostly as a running back and wide receiver.  He lead the Giants to a 1956 championship while winning the leagues most valuable player award.  He was inducted in to the pro football hall of fame in 1977.
