Targu Jiu is a small town in Gorj County, Romania certified in 1406 and has received the Golden Apple. This prize is awarded by the Association of Tourism Journalists. The award was given due to the works of Constantin Brancusi: Table of Silence, Gate of Kiss and The Endless Column. Also contributed to this award monasteries in this geographical area but also famous Transalpina road.
Golden Apple Award was given to other cities in Europe, including Dubrovnik in Croatia, Prague in the Czech Republic.
For Romania, getting such an award is an honor.
