Once there lived a poor farmer in village. His wife was agreedy women. She had a hen which laid a golden egg every day. She sold this golden egg at a very high price and earned a lot of money. Soon she became very rich. The people of the village wanted to buy this hen but it was so dear to her that she did not sell it inspite of quite attractive offers.
One day she became more greedy than ever before. She decided to kill the hen and to get all the golden eggs out of it and to bacame very rich over night. Her husband advised her not to do so but she paid deaf ears to his advice and killed the hen and tore open its stomach. She was shocked to see that there were no golden eggs in its stomach. Now she felt very sorry for it, but it was useless to cry over spilt milk.
1. Haste makes waste.
2. Greed is a curse.
3. It is no use to cry over spilt milk.
