The Director and writer, Sanjay Leela Bhansali took the basic thought of 2 lovers from differing section and filled it with thrilling outburst of imagery and colours which is very unique. He did it with boom and outshined in that and made Ram-Leela an excellent adaptation.
The story begins with a vividly colourful small town of Gujarat, where all is picture-postcard beautiful, at least visually. Ram played by Ranveer Singh as well as Leela played by Deepika Padukone are from warring people groups Sanada and Rajadi. Yet Ram from Rajadi and sanada group’s Leela loved each other. In that town bullets and guns were obtainable and sold like the main crop of that terrain in addition with the red dried, chillies that viewers could see spread inside the patio of matriarch Baa, Leela's mother played by Supriya Pathak. However Bhansali occasionally weaves along little turns and twists which might make the viewers breathless.
The director's notice to the details is amazing. A candle, chandelier, wall paint, curtains everything is flawlessly arranged. Every movement, every action scene, even by any supporting character seems meticulously choreographed. The script though imperfect is sufficiently strong to give the lead characters sufficient for shining in turns. Everyone got one line or 2 for displaying their strength.
The director's handling of the topic is wonderful. It's exciting how always there is frightening feel in a particular destructive, violent flash in the story even when the scene is romantic. The viewers will get a feel of a fated love event waiting to take place. The background music of Monty Sharma helps the dramatic anxiety in the script. All songs are very well-choreographed excluding the item number of Priyanka Chopra that look ordinary.
