In 2007 after Johnny Depp had made the second "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie portraying the lead role of Captain Jack Sparrow his daughter Lily-Rose became seriously ill with E-Coli and was having kidney failure. She was at the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children in London, England in the UK where due to wonderful medical care. Johnny was so grateful that he dressed up in his Captain Jack Sparrow costume and went and visited the children and read to them for hours.

Since then out of the goodness of his heart Johnny takes his Disney Captain Jack Sparrow costume along with him on trips and visits various children's hospitals when he can. When he does this, he is amazing! Johnny does not go there to amuse the kids with this Disney character costume and personality. He truly cares, look at how he looks right into those sick children's eyes.
