Many people say they take melatonin. This is a hormone that helps regulate your sleep cycles. If I take it I have vivid and almost scary dreams. I have not taken any for several months.
Some people take over-the-counter sleep aids. If they contain diphenhydramine or other antihistamine medications you need to be aware that for some people it makes you sleep less rather than help you fall asleep.
Other suggestions that help many are to expose yourself to morning sun or a special lamp that mimics sunrise.
Sleep comes better to those who are physically active during the day and others find they are sleep disturbed if they stay on the computer or watch television too late.
For a good night’s sleep you should watch your afternoon caffeine intake.
