A visit to Atlantic City is not complete without a walk along the boardwalk. This most famous boardwalk is more than 5 miles long along which are stretches of beach, the Steel Pier amusement and rides, a small mall, hotels/casinos, restaurants, bars, and lots of small stores and snack stands.
Of course, such a long walk makes you hot and thirsty, and we often walk through The Quarter within the Tropicana. There are shops, restaurants, and it even has an IMAX theater. There are upscale eateries and shopping such as The Palms, Carmines, A Time for Wine wine store and Swarovski but there are also Starbucks, stores that sell Atlantic City souvenirs and now, Go Yo Go yogurt shop, which is where we stopped for a snack.
GoYoGo is a create it yourself frozen yogurt shop, which always ends up costing quite a bit of money. First you fill your cup with whichever flavor or flavors of frozen yogurt you want, and then top it with fruit, nuts, candy bits, sprinkles, chocolate, cookie pieces, hot fudge, syrups, whipped cream and more. I liked that every spoon was labeled because I dislike coconut and avoid it all all cost, plus I like to know what I am choosing. By the time the three of us were done creating our yummy masterpieces, it cost $25.00! They charge by the ounce, and there is a scale attached to the register, so by the time you add all sorts of treats to your cup, fifty-nine cents an ounce adds up quickly.
I typically like to stick with vanilla as my yogurt base, since I will get enough flavors from the toppings I put on, but this time I did get a little bit of the cake batter yogurt, which was very sweet. My son got the cinnamon roll yogurt, which he liked very much. Other options included banana, mango, strawberry, pumpkin, and pomegranate raspberry. If you like two flavors twisted together, then this is the place for you because they pair up flavors that go together in two halves of the same machine so you can easily mix them. Mixes like pumpkin and cheesecake or coconut and dulce de leche. All flavors can be used individually, and you can make your own combinations, but they have helped a little with the decision making. There also have some frozen yogurt flavors that are non-fat and no sugar added.
The employees kept the store clean, and even though it was not very crowded when we were there, they were wiping down drips of frozen yogurt and making sure all of the toppings were filled and neat. On a warm summer day, after doing quite a bit of walking, sitting down and enjoying some frozen yogurt topped with chocolate and cookie pieces at GoYoGo was a nice break.
