GSP Defeats Hendricks In Controversial Decision!

Posted on at

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) 167 featured a tremendous main event between welterweights George Saint Pierre and number one challenger Johny Hendricks.  After a 5 round, 25 minute brawl, a battered GSP was declared the winner by a controversial split decision win.  After the unpopular announcement was made GSP indicated he might be done fighting.  He stated due to personal reasons he might need to sit back and take an extended break from the Octagon

Mixed martial arts (MMA) experts and fight fans around the world thought GSP had lost his title.  UFC president Dana White was outraged by the decision and called for an immediate rematch between the two fighters.  He also called for a reform by the Nevada Athletic Commission on how they score a UFC / MMA fight.

In a press release by the Los Angeles Times, White expressed with confidence a rematch would be possible in the next 6 months between the two fighters.

Bouncer Chronicles scored the fight three rounds to two rounds in favor of GSP with GSP winning rounds 1 and 3 while edging out Hendricks in round 5.
