Before you see Guardians of The Galaxy (2014), here is everything you need to know about the movie, its characters, and its makers:
- Guardians of The Galaxy first appeared in Marvel comics in 1969. They were then re-introduced in the form of a new team in 2008, and it is this team that the movie characters are based on.
- The main characters of the movie are: Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saladena), Drax The Destroyer (David Bautista), Groot (Vin Diesel), and Rocket, The Racoon (voiced by Bradley Cooper).
- The film is directed by James Gunn, who previously directed Slither (2006) and wrote the movies Scooby-Doo (2002) and Scooby-Doo 2 (2004).
- Howard The Duck, the popular Marvel Comics character that first appeared in the 1986 movie Howard The Duck, makes two appearances in Guardians of The Galaxy; one in a holding tank in The Collector’s (played by Benicio Del Toro) collection, and then in a post-credits sequence.
