With its scorching heat, summertime in Portugal can border on unbearable. But the city of Águeda has residents and tourists covered — literally. Production company Sexta Feira launched the Umbrella Sky Project as part of a local arts celebration, and these cheery blocks, shaded by hundreds of umbrellas suspended on cables, have since made international headlines. The 2015 installment is set to launch in July. Keep your eyes out for Rua Luis de Camões, a thoroughfare with calçada (Portuguese-style stone pavement) as well as the most colorful street art.
