One will not regret for paying for ticket to watch this movie. This movie is packed with emotions, action, drama, friendship and some remarkable performances.
The story was set in backdrop when the Bangladesh was created. This movie highlights that many people turned into refugees due to the partition. The movie tracks the tale of 2 friends Bala played by Arjun Kapoor and Bikram played by Ranveer Singh who were living in Kolkata at that time in 70s. As kids Bala and Bikram tried to earn money for their living in the good way but the destiny had some other planning for them. The journey which started from steal coal ultimately made them the chief coal mafia inside Calcutta. They became Gunday or villains however on the other side they were doing lots of good work such as starting many hospitals and schools. ACP Satyajit Sarkar played by Irfan Khan was called to stop their illicit work and for nailinf them down. Everything was well between these 2 friends till both of them fell-in-love with Nandita played by Priyanka Chopra, who was a club dancer.
Post interval there were many turns and twists that kept the movie engaging. The movie worked very well due to the chemistry in between the guys and that was the main USP of the movie. Both were unvarying through the movie. The acting of Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor & Priyanka Chopra was brilliant. Irfan Khan made strong presence, though he didn't have many scenes. Cinematography and action was very good. However, the Sohail Sen’s music was not that impressive. In short, Gunday is a complete entertaining movie.
