A new Singaporean advertisement has making the rounds online in Facebook.
Uploaded by Facebook page The Real Singapore, the ad shows a young man come across a family having a tight budget, as they can’t afford to buy a cake.
Without second thought, the man buys the cake and hands it to them. But the old woman refuses and says, “there’s no reason for you to buy the cake for us.”
The man insisted and shared his same experience, “when I was 7, my mother wanted me to buy a cake. By the counter, she didn’t have enough.” He really wanted to buy the cake because it was his birthday. Until a man approached him and gave him the cake he wanted and said happy birthday.
“I never got the chance to say thank you,” the man continued.
The old woman asked for the young man’s contact number so they can repay him if they’ll have money.
The young man wrote something on the paper and handed it to the girl while saying, “promise me something, okay? Someday when you able to help somebody, you will do it.”
The girl nodded. Then, the young man left.
When the family arrived in their home, a twist happened in the story.
