I just had the results of my yearly physical check-up. Thank, God, everything is normal except my deficiency of vitamin D. Cardio-vascular is normal. Cholesterol is normal. Blood pressure is normal. Liver used to be a bit fatty, now it is quite normal. Consuming lots of broccoli, spinach, cabbage, and variety of fruits reduced the amount of bad fats in our liver. In the last 3 months I started to eat daily lots of brocs, spinach, and fruits. I guess my brain is still normal, too! haha!
Anyway, before our family doctor let me go, she gave me a list of the foods to eat and foods never to eat. Here is the list:
MUST EAT FOODS : Skinless chicken meat, lean cuts of meat (beef), fish, shrimps, legumes, egg whites, skim milk/yogurt with 1% fat. All fruits (frozen, canned, or fresh), all green leafy vegetables, whole wheat bread, brown rice, and oatmeal. For snacks – non-fat popcorn, pretzels, cookies with less than 5% fat.
MUST AVOID FOODS – fatty cuts of meat, bacon and sausage, whole milk, regular cheese, ice cream, margarine, croissants, donuts, and baked foods with shortening and sugar.
RECOMMENDED DRINKS – Green tea, coffee with minimal amount of sugar, fruit juices, and clean water.
In addition to the above health foods, regular exercise, at least 6 hours of sleep, and lovey-dovey with spouse or partner are also necessary to keep body and mind healthy. O, the lovey-dovey thing is my own idea. LOL
Let us eat health foods to live long!
