The unusually harsh summer heat in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh has already taken a heavy toll of lives in the two neighbouring states of India. At least 111 people have died due to sunstroke during the last few days as the two states are experiencing intense heat wave conditions. Most of the deaths have occurred in Telangana where as many as 66 people died while 45 have so far succumbed in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh. Most of the deaths were reported during the last one week. Hospitals in both the states have been alerted to be prepared to tackle the situation and people have been advised to avoid venturing out of their houses during day times, especially between 12 noon and 3 pm. The situation is really alarming.
