Higher Education Commission HEC has started indigenous scholarships for English Faculty of Public Sector Universities/Colleges.
Applications are invited for Indigenous Scholarships under English Language Teaching Reforms (ELTR) Project Phase-ll, HEC for in-service English teachers of public sector colleges and universities of the country for the following programs:
*MPhil /MS in Applied Linguistics and related disciplines (Up to Two years)
*Masters in Applied Linguistics, TEFL, TESL, ELT (Up to Two years)
* PGD,ADP in TEFL, TESL, ELT (Up to One year)
The Scholarship will be offered for academic session starting from Fall 2014.
Eligibility Criteria:
► Pakistani /AJK National.
► Full time/ Permanent English faculty (Lecturer & above) of public sector colleges and universities.
► At least one year experience of Teaching English at Graduate/Post Graduate level.
► Applicants with Maximum 50 years of age, with minimum 16 years of education are eligible for the Scholarships.
► The candidates who are already availing any other HEC Scholarship are NOT eligible to apply.
► Already enrolled candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria and studying in the specified programmes may also apply for the Scholarship. Funding will be provided for the remaining period of their study.
How to Apply & Documents Required along with Application:
►The candidates must secure admission in HEC recognized public or private sector universities /DAIs offering the specified programs
► Send application form to ELTR Phase-ll, HEC along with photocopies of all Educational testimonials and CNIC copy attested by Gazetted officer, University Admission Letter, two passport size photograph, original online deposit slip/ATM Transfer slip of Rs.400/-including undertaking on Judicial Stamp Paper of Rs.100 attested from Notary Public, NOC from Directorate of Colleges (for College Faculty) Registrar /VC (for University Faculty).
► The applicants who will secure admission (Fall semester 2014) after the deadline may send their admission letter on intimation from ELTR, HEC in case they are shortlisted.
► Original online Bank deposit slip of Rs.400/- (non-refundable) as processing fee in favour of the Director General Finance, Higher Education Commission can be deposited through any bank in Account No 17427900133401, Habib Bank Ltd, Shalimar Recording Company Branch, H-9, Islamabad.
► Mention a valid e-mail ID in application form as all correspondence will be done through e-mail.
► Only shortlisted candidates will be intimated.
► HEC reserves the right to cancel the Scholarship at any stage.
► Incomplete applications received or after due date will not be entertained.

Grants and Benefits:
The Scholarship covers only tuition fee up-to Rs. 100,000/- and a stipend of Rs. 2000/- per month as per semester schedule, the research /thesis fee will not be covered.
