After a gap of five years on Friday, the heritage toy train service was again started from New Jalpaiguri to Darjeeling. But unfortunately the service had to be suspended within 24 hours on Saturday due to debris blocking the tracks at Pagla Jhora. According to a Darjeeling Himalayan Railways (DHR) official, incessant rain and weakened soil structure made some boulders and debris fall on the narrow gauge tracks near Pagla Jhora and one of the boulders being huge could not be cleared in time and hence the services were temporarily suspended.
