Hernandez Loses Bid To Block Murder Trial

Posted on at

Bouncer Chronicles reports former all-pro NFL tight end Aaron Hernandez has lost a bid to block his murder trial. A judge has rejected a motion to dismiss charges against the former New England Patriot. He is accused of the 2013 murder of Odin Lloyd near his New Bedford, Massachusetts home.

Hernandez's lawyers moved to dismiss murder charges against him because the prosecutors have not presented any evidence or motive for the slaying. Bristol Superior Court Judge E. Susan Garsh said in her ruling "the probable cause and the defendants guilt can be established by circumstantial evidence and prosecutors don't need to prove a motive to secure a murder conviction."

Hernandez is being held without bail after pleading not guilty to killing Lloyd. His trial is scheduled to start January 9, 2015.
