Hidden Valley Falls is located in an area of Belize where a botanical oddity occurs. Mountain Pine Ridge is an area where fir trees cover the landscape, a phenomenon seen nowhere else in the world so close to the equator. Hidden Valley Falls drops off of this ridge. There is some evidence that suggests the actual drop is closer to 1600 feet, regardless of what the commonly used alternate name, Thousand Foot Falls, indicates.
