HIJAB NECESSARY IN ISLAM FOR WOMEN?

Posted on at

On February 1 the world Hijab Day is celebrated in recognition of millions of Muslim women who choose to wear the hijab and live a life of sobriety. Islam raised the status of women and granted them their just rights 1400 years ago. Islam expects women to maintain their modesty. Modesty is required even for me first mention Allah swt Hijab or lowering his gaze for the first time for man to the woman.

The Qur'an mentions in Surah Noor:
"Tell the believing men to lower their gaze and guard their modesty: that will make for greater purity for them Allah is Aware of what they do!".
[Al-Qur'an 24:30]

The moment a man looks at a woman and if any brazen or thought without shame comes to mind, he should lower his gaze.

Why Hijab needed in Islam for women?

Hijab for women:

The next verse of Surah Noor, says:
"And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should draw veils over their bosoms and not display their ornaments except to their husbands , their fathers, their husbands' fathers, their sons ... "
[Al-Qur'an 24:31]

After verses of Surah Al-Ahzab:
"O Prophet Tell your wives and daughters and the believing women that the mantle on his person (abroad);!. That is most convenient, that should be known (as such) and not bother Allah is forgiving, Merciful. "
[Al-Qur'an 33:59]

The Quran says that Hijab has been prescribed for women to be recognized as modest women and this will also prevent them from being teased. The status of women in Islam is often the target of attacks in the secular media. The 'hijab' or the Islamic dress is cited by many as an example of "subjugation" of women under Islamic law. There are many benefits or advantages of hijab in Islam.
Hijab criteria.

According to the Qur'an and Sunnah there are basically criteria for observation

hijab:

1. Extension:
The first criterion is the extent of the body that should be covered. This is different for men and women. The extension of compulsory coverage in the male is to cover the body at least from the navel to the knees. For women, the extension of compulsory insurance is to cover the entire body except the face and hands to the wrist and feet. If they wish, they can cover even these parts of the body. Some scholars of Islam insist that the face and hands are part of the obligatory extent of 'hijab'. All the remaining five criteria are the same for men and women.

2. The clothes worn should be loose and should not reveal the figure.

3. The clothes worn should not be transparent so that one can see through them.

4. The clothes worn should not be so glamorous as to attract the opposite sex.
Muslim women have different kind of hijab or covered in different cultures and societies. The main objective is to remain modest and chaste. In Western countries and here in the United States a comfortable deck style was adopted. It is not too loose or falling apart and can carry out day to day work conveniently using this hijab.

It is a symbol for Muslim women. Whatever dress you are wearing and covering his head, is easily recognizable from his being a Muslim.

Hijab includes conduct and behavior among other things.
'Hijab' complete in addition to the criteria of clothing, also includes the moral conduct, behavior, attitude and intention of the person. A person only fulfilling the criteria of 'hijab' of the clothes is observing 'hijab' in a limited sense. 'Hijab' of the clothes should be accompanied by 'hijab' eye, 'hijab' heart 'hijab' of thought and 'hijab' of intention. It also includes the way a person walks, the way a person speaks, the way he behaves, etc.

To celebrate the hijab day the idea is to promote religious tolerance and understanding by inviting women, while not hijabi Muslims and non-Muslims, to experience hijab for a day .. With the opening of new avenues of understanding, to counter some of the controversies surrounding why Muslim women choose to wear the hijab. So many Muslim women stopped hijab US due to hatred, backlash and fear of Muslims after 9/11 incident and lots of Islamophobic comments. It is a good rebirth of bonds and enforce the ideology especially young people to practice this command of Allah and the Koran.
