HOG-NOSED BAT:-
THE ABSENCE OF LOWER INCISORS FACILATATES TONGUE MOVEMENT IN THE HOGNOSE. THAT TRAIT AND A LONG, SLENDER NOSE ADAPT THIS NECTAR FEEDER TO FORAGING IN THE FLOWERS OF CACTI AND OTHER DESERT PLANTS. IN THE UNITESD STATES, THE HOGNOSE OCCURS ONLY IN THE CANONS OF THE FAR SOUTHWEST.
FROM THERE IT RANGES SOUTH THROUG MEXICO AND CENTRAL AMERICA TO HONDURAS.THIS BAT WEIGHS BETWEEN 0.35 AND 0.71 OF AN OUNCE (10 TO 20 G).
