Each night after the news is read they have a segment where they flash pictures and names and other information about people that are missing of which most are young children. Some of them have dates as far back as "missing since 2012" and their photos are still being displayed nightly

What I want to ask is how long does someone search for a relative that goes missing? Do they still keep looking and have faith that they are alive and out there somewhere after a year or so?

I have not had anyone go missing (knock on wood) so I don't know how long the hope of a safe return stays afloat. I think two years is a bit of a stretch to still be hopeful that relative would return home safely.

Would you still be looking for a missing relative after a year? How long would you keep hope alive?
