1. You always help each other without keeping score

2. You never discuss the weather.

3. You've had meaningful experiences together.

4. You've actually met in person.

5. You know embarrassing things about each other that don't show up in a Google search engine.

6. You can call each other without the need of scheduling a conversation.

7. You feel comfortable enough at their place to raid the refrigerator or go number two in their bathroom.

8. Any such little favors they’ve done for you in the past aren’t kept on track of, and vice versa.

9. All of your posts on facebook are guaranteed a comment, like, or SOME TYPE OF ACKNOWLEDGMENT from your true friend. It may sound stupid, but in this day and age, you can’t leave a friend's post response-less – not even the 54th picture of their nephew or their 14th selfie of the day.

10. You’ve borrowed each other’s stuff that normal acquaintances probably wouldn’t share. Cars, rooms, expensive electronics, gadgets etc.

11. During the lowest of lows, they don’t give up on you even if you’ve given up on yourself.
