If electricity is much essential for us so it’s our responsibility to use it appropriately. Wasting energy will cause the problem to us. Our work will stop due to load shading. If we start using electricity carefully then energy can be saved. Saving energy provides us with a number of benefits. These are:
>>Saving energy will save money
>>Saving energy will eliminate the problem of load shedding
>>Saving energy will reduce pollution
How to consume less energy? How to save energy? These are some of the questions that arise in our mind because all of us think that we are not wasting energy, we are making excellent use of energy. But, some very basics mistakes we all made that waste energy. If we improve these small mistakes then energy can be saved drastically. Individually we must be thinking that it’s a minor amount of electricity but as a whole, we are wasting a huge amount of energy. Apply some basic and easy tips in your life and see the magic.
This article will give you an idea about how to save energy. I am not advising to lower down your needs or to completely shut down electricity even if you need. No! I am just pointing some areas where our energy is wasted continuously and we people did not pay attention.
Plug out all the chargers and devices when not in use

It’s a common habit of all of us that we do not plug the socket of chargers after charging cell phones or laptops. We think that this will never affect our bill but it does.
Turning off the switch does not mean that we have fulfilled our responsibility. If you want to be responsible towards your economy, plug out the chargers when you are not using them. This will affect the overall consumption of energy. If all the members of the house follow this simple rule it will together make great effects.
Service your air conditioner

Air conditioners are getting common nowadays because summers are getting hotter each year. Easy maintenance and cleaning air filters can affect the overall consumption of electricity. Almost 15% energy can be saved if your air conditioner is maintained. We should use the air conditioner at lower levels so that energy and money both can be saved. Before purchasing air conditioners take a look at the quality because a low-quality air conditioner will consume more energy.
Open windows at night and evening

Opening windows at night will provide a natural breeze and you don’t need to switch on the air conditioner. At night temperature is mild, try to go for natural breeze instead of air conditioner. Living with nature not only makes you healthier but also save energy.
Use ceiling fans

Ceiling fans are one of the best options for saving energy. I agree it will never sooth like an air conditioner but still, it can e used for comfort. Almost every middle-class house is making use of ceiling fans and living a very peaceful life with it. Ceiling fans will lower down the temperature of the house much easily without opening up the air conditioner. You will see a massive decrease in your electricity bill after tuning on ceiling fan instead of air conditioners.
Use sunlight at daytime

During the daytime, we are blessed with sunlight. So we should turn down lights and bulbs. We should use sunlight as much as we can, open all the windows and turn lights off will work. At the office, schools and organizations follow this simple rule and save energy.
Dry laundry in sunlight
We are living in Pakistan, where sunlight is always available so instead of going for dryers we can hang laundry in sunlight. In summers it will take only two hours in drying because the sun is at its peak.

Instead of paying for drying isn’t it more beneficial to use natural resources? Yes! Of course, it is. Use sunlight for different purposes and cut down the number of electricity bills.

There was a time when people use bathtubs in their bathrooms. But today bathtubs are replaced by showers. A lot of water is wasted due to showers. We can save water because saved water can be consumed later for different purposes. Don’t waste water during brushing turn off the tap when not in use. These small habits will prove beneficial for all of us.
Skip the heat dry setting for the dishwasher

Using appliances of necessity is the good but excessive use of home appliances without proper need is meaningless. Some of the people among us use dishwasher dryers, which I personally feel is not a necessity rather I should call it a luxury. This type of appliance is just for wasting our money and energy. We can also live a smooth life without these machines. So, I will personally suggest eradicating these machines from your homes because it will benefit you also.
Conclusion...

All these are the tips I know at that time, many more tricks are also there. Instead of going for big resolutions, sometimes small efforts can do wonders. So, instead of blaming one another for our problems we should step forward and change our habits. Change starts with you, don’t look at others. Save energy and also ask your family to do this. One by one almost everyone will follow you for that good cause.
