Life is like a constant battle. I always find myself fighting for my own life to survive. It is no secret anymore that I have health issues. It has been making my life miserable for many years now. I can't live a normal life because of it. I can't travel, eat whatever I want, have a day job, etc. It is a sad reality, but I have to be strong for myself, and the people around me. 

How To Stay Positive in Life

No matter what you are going through in life, you have to keep your hopes up and see the good in every situation. Here are the ways on how to stay positive in life. 

  • Stay positive

Everyone has a problem. Nobody has a perfect life. You may be going through a rough time when it comes to career, health or relationship. Sometimes, you feel angry at yourself, you get disappointed, and you feel like giving up on life. Yes, it is normal to feel that way. However, do not let your problems get you down. As long as you are alive, there is always hope. Try to stay positive whatever life throws at you, and lift everything to God. 

  • Spend time with people who are important to you

To help you stay positive in life, spend time with people who are valuable to you like family, friends or special someone. Having social time can give you happiness right away. Create meaningful experiences by eating meals together, going out for coffee dates, watching movies or television series at night, walking in the park, etc. Never miss an opportunity to spend time with them most especially during special occasions like birthday, Christmas, new year and wedding anniversary. 

  • Exercise

There is no doubt that exercise is favorable for your overall health and well-being. It makes you stronger, helps to ward off different kinds of illnesses, delays the signs of aging and gives you a positive outlook in life. According to a study, when you exercise, your body releases a chemical called Dopamine. It is responsible for giving you a happy feeling.  

  • Reduce your anxiety or stress

Stress is one of the top causes of illnesses. Sadly, it is inevitable. However, you can lessen the effects of stress if you will always be keeping your health in check, practice work-life balance, spend time with family, friends or special someone and if you will maintain a positive attitude among others. If you are optimistic in life, your anxiety and stress levels will reduce. 

  •  Never give up

We all have a fair share of battles, and as you may already know that even the smallest problem can lead to something bigger when racked up. If you feel like life is being unfair to you, never consider the thought of giving up. There is a reason why is it happening. Just turn to God and ask for wisdom and guidance. 

I think that life is difficult. People have challenges. Family members get sick, people get older, you don't always get the job or the promotion that you want. You have conflicts in your life. And really, life is about your resilience and your ability to go through your life and all of the ups and downs with a positive attitude."

  • Learn how to help

Helping someone will not only make you feel good about yourself but will spread positivity to other people, too. Lend a hand if someone is in need of help, even if it is the simplest effort like checking them out to see if they are okay or not through text or phone call. Also, be the best listener if someone is sharing his or her problem. 

  •  Always be thankful

Even the smallest gesture or act of kindness done to you, do not forget to be always thankful. Showing your appreciation or gratitude to someone can't only give you a positive feeling, but it can make them smile, too. Say thank you or leave a small note to the person who has helped you today.

  • Seek professional help if you need it

Depression is a common disease of millions of people worldwide.  The symptoms of depression may include feeling sad, loss of appetite, loss of energy, feeling unworthy, etc. If you think you are suffering from such, seek professional help right away. You may go through some medication and therapy that can help you get better. 

  • Eat well

Eating fruits and vegetables are perfect in sustaining a healthy lifestyle. Moreover, they can boost your mood and give you instant happiness. Remember, you are what you eat. Choose food that is rich in calcium, folate, and iron because they are known to give you a positive feeling. 

  • Find ways to be happy

There are many ways to be happy, by doing a hobby or something that you love like baking, cooking, cross-stitching, dancing, designing, gaming, gardening, hiking, photography, shopping, sports, travel, and other things. Make sure to make time for any of it during the weekend. Remember, work-life balance.

Final Thoughts

Staying positive in life is what you should always do even when life gets hard. Problems are part of every person's life. It is unavoidable. However, do not let it get into you. It may be hard to resolve but do not ever get depressed when things do not go according to plan. Say a prayer. It is your best solution to all your problems in life.
