The composition of instructions to perform any specific task on a computer or mobile phone is called "Software". Since the basic language of the computer is mechanical, therefore, a different 'Language' is used to communicate between man and machine which is called "Programming Language". There are several types of programming and scripting languages available in the market for the preparation of Software at this time. C (Programming language), Java, Python, Ruby, HTML, XML, PHP, .Net, and Delph are more popular among them.

There are very rare chances of a person who doesn't use a Software program in today's modern era. Clock's Alarm, Calculator, Mobile Phone, Microwave Oven, Widespread World of Internet and Web, there are different Software behind all these things by which our lives have been very easy. Due to Software today, from the means of communication to photography and from video production to graphic designing and till animation there has been a revolution in every field of life.
It is a wonder of Software that we can do all the work easily on the computer today that required a lot of time and energy in the past. For example, using Adobe Lightroom to develop photos while earlier, this work was done by soaking the negative of the photo into chemicals and the pictures used to take many days to get ready.
How to get its education?
There are many ways for Software Development's education at different levels. Colleges have different programs such as intermediate-based computer science, ICS, and three-year diploma courses at the intermediate level. While at the university level, there are many educational programs available including Bachelors, Masters, and PhD. After completion of these programs, Self-Employment and Job opportunities are more likely to be availed.

Since there are more opportunities for employment after completing these programs in my country, therefore, the competition for this education in government colleges and universities is tough and the criterion of merit is very strict while its education is expensive in private educational institutions.
In addition, there are many courses which completion period is three to six months. Short courses can be completed through formal and informal ways like Web-Designing, and they are equally beneficial as degrees, but in some cases they are more beneficial than degrees because you are taught 40 subjects in 4 years for the degree while the same thing in the courses is more focused which leads to more skills in less time.

All the students who have completed Software Development and want to do a full-time or a sidekick business, can run it as a whole business. Since it is a service selling sector, it does not require much capitalization to start it as a business. It is generally asked by people that why is there a higher income in the Software industry than other sectors?
The reason for this is that its initial expenses are very low and secondly you can sell the same work to many customers. For instance, if you have created an accounting software for a shop/office, you can sell it at many other places as well. Since the cost of its second copy is negligible, that's why there is more profit.
While in other businesses there is a fixed cost of the manufacture of items/services for each customer, Which cannot be decreased than a certain extent. For example, whether you sell 1 piece or 100 pieces of mobile phones, there must be some fixed cost on the manufacturing of each piece. Not like the Software that the second copy of the mobile phone is manufactured free of cost.

Desktop applications are usually developed for a specific operating system (Windows, Macintosh, Linux etc). But Desktop applications can be developed in a way that can work on multiple operating systems.
There are many programming languages for desktop development. Microsoft's Visual Studio, Java, and C are the most demanded in the market.
People who specialize in desktop applications can also develop software programs that work on specific machines. For example, the telephone exchange, the photocopying machine/printer inside the software, which only perform specific tasks. Such Software are called "Embedded Software".
