Burnley were architects of their own downfall at West Ham last weekend, but we will give them one more chance to reward support when they visit Hull City on Saturday.

Although there is no doubt the Clarets are going down, we think there is still potentially a win or two in them before they say goodbye to the Premier League and return to the Championship from which they were promoted last season.
We thought victory may come in Upton Park, but all hope was extinguished when centre-half Michael Duff conceded a penalty by fouling Cheikhou Kouyate midway through the first half and was consequently – and contentiously – sent off by FA Cup Final referee Jon Moss.
Both managers thought the decision was harsh, especially Burnley boss Sean Dyche. An appeal has been lodged but if it is unsuccessful, while Duff’s suspension is not ideal from a sense of continuity due to his long-standing partnership with Jason Shackell, Michael Keane is not a bad replacement.
The reason why Burnley are being relegated is that they simply cannot score goals, missing chances proving their biggest problem, but if they can convert just one opportunity against Hull then it may well be enough.
They can boast an excellent record against the Tigers having won on their last four visits to the KC Stadium, while a 1-0 success at Turf Moor in November was Burnley’s first win of this season.

And to add further credence to the theory that this could be a closely-fought tussle decided by a solitary goal, five of the last six meetings of these clubs have finished 1-0 – four of them in Burnley’s favour.
This simply has all the hallmarks of being a tense, low-scoring struggle between teams who contest their fair share of that kind of match, with Hull’s recent revival having taken a fairly unsurprising knock with a 3-1 home loss to Arsenal on Monday.
Steve Bruce’s side are patchy and when they have enjoyed a couple of triumphs close together, they generally take a while to pick up the winning thread again – so another drought could be in store after the recent successes over Crystal Palace and Liverpool, and that could potentially be very costly regarding their own survival prospects.
Our faith in Burnley is not limitless and the same applies to our funds to back them with, so this is pretty much a last chance for them to carry our cash if they let us down again – hopefully they won’t.
