July has witnessed a great deal of upheavals in the Bollywood industry. Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania was one of those delicious chocolates that Bollywood offered us this July. Though it has been undermined as an emulation of the famous DilwaleDulhania Le Jayenge, but it outgrows the criticism with its own bundle of modifications contained in the film. The background of Punjab and some scenes may be a recurrent feature, but that does not delimit the film’s existence as mere imitation.

VarunDhawan and Alia Bhatt have magically weaved their acting skills into the plot only to create a sweet humorous love story. The film does not hold any target audience as its special objective, rather with its simple script of love attracts the entire Indian audience irrespective of any special age group. Popular TV serial BalikaBadhu’s Shiv also makes a debut in this film with his guest appearance. Though he is the ideal man and VarunDhawan poses to be a man full of flaws, Alia opts for Varun and not the ideal man. Varun is a complete reflection of the youth strata of the society and through Alia’s choice the entire movie voices out to convey the message that it’s not the man but the relation that should be perfect. With the monsoons knocking at the door, it may be a perfect flick with hot popcorn.
