Hvitserkur, North Iceland
at one time it was the plug of a volcano, but throughout the years the craters nearby the rock plug gave way to the beating Atlantic Ocean leaving only the odd outcropping Hvítserkur behind. Peculiarly, Hvítserkur itself would have yielded way to the ocean as well, had its foundations not been shored up with concrete some years ago.
