How can we really forget - especially the offenses, the hurts, the pains inflicted on us by others? This internal filing system, called memory, doesn't allow us to fully forget even the things we want to forget.
We have to remember that only God can enable us to forget the negative emotionally-laden experiences. He does the smoothing and softening of the edges of pain, and only He can do the erasing. Sometimes this takes time, and a lot of time.
A deeper understanding of this mental process can help us get over the hump of negative relationships- others faults, our spouses' offenses and the treachery of our friends.
