What Did It Feel Like?
He lives a half hour away from me so we didn't see each other very often but when we did, I just always felt so comfortable around him. I could tell him anything and I trusted him more than anyone. Whenever I was with him I was happy. He wasn't the best looking guy, but I was never ashamed to be seen with him because in my eyes he was perfect. Whenever I would wake up and see that I had a message from him just to say hello or I love you, I got butterflies. All of my friends said we were perfect for each other and I believed it. I lost my virginity to him and still love him but I don't think he feels the same way.
What Happened Next?
After a while, the distance became a hassle and we weren't seeing each other very often. We broke up for a couple of months but it was even harder that way. So we got back together. After a while he stopped texting me just to say hi and when I said I loved him he would just say aww. I knew he had to be falling out of love but I couldn't admit it. Then one day I got a text saying he needed to talk to me and I was going to be mad. He said he met another girl and me and him had to break up. I was crushed. But after some time, him and the girl broke up and me and him started talking again. He recently started coming over after school because he can drive, but so far he hasn't tried to make much of an emotional connection. Just physical. I wish we could get our relationship back to the way it was... I still love him and I miss being able to call him my boyfriend.
Lessons Learned
- Long distance sucks but if you're in love, it can work. It is hard but sometimes trying to avoid being hurt can hurt you more. He said we broke up because it killed him inside that we couldn't be together every day. He says we would still be together if we lived closer to each other and he still likes me. Now all I have to do is wait it out and hopefully in time, things will get better and we can fall in love again.
