NEW YORK - Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, the Internet Movie Database (IMDB) – the quintessential source for movie details big and small – has decided to release a list of the best-rated films of the last 25 years according to their millions of users.

While the list is varied and reflects both original properties and established franchises, it does point to the fact that users adore Christopher Nolan, Martin Scorsese, Quentin Tarantino, Leonardo Dicaprio, Morgan Freeman, and Matt Damon. For those that are curious, the top-rated movie for 2015 so far is Inside Out.
