IMPORTANCE OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE
World is going to be a global village because of fast developments in information technology sector, most of countries are now democrats and the ruler’s concentration is over the people welfare and improvement of quality of life. For the developments in economy and civilization, nations focusing over one system of language and there is competition which language keeps influence over international matters. But easy communication and medium is the demand of current developing nations. So importance of language can never be overlooked. It is source of communication between the nations. Similarly world is shirking, focusing of few world languages and English is one of them.
Single language speaking in the world is highly debated topic and mostly countries agree to adopt this method that is way major portion of the world population understand. In the world some countries opposes English as an international language due to national or personal dyejudices. Yet the roots of English as mother tongue are very deep we can see it’s competency in numerous number of population in the world and easily estimate one fifth of world population is English speaking. No other language has ever been spoken so widely.
Before partition of India, we were the part of Queen Victoria’s Empire as well as the British ruled over a major part of the world. No wonder it was said that “the sun never sets in Queen Victoria Empire. “ The English conqueror wherever went, they also concentrated to spread their language too. They establish school and universities where the medium of education was English. Naturally their standard of education was higher as compared to the local institutions.
That was the reason of the progress of these schools and system of education. We can see that influence of system after the British left. Their missionaries continued to spread their language.
English is a historical language and full of literature, scientific research and studies and their publication and the world is getting benefits after studying these books. That is fact English language has traversed almost all the boundaries of the world and has become indispensible. For higher goals and betters future, adaptation of English language is must now in all walks of life.
