India’s President Pranab Mukherjee in a gathering at Pune asked for quality improvement in higher education in the country which can be achieved only by a holistic approach that emphasizes on innovation, research, invention and development. He reminded the policy makers that the country has witnessed a significant physical expansion in terms of education infrastructure, but unless the much needed attention is focused on quality improvement, it would be impossible for India is to take its place among the leading countries of the world.
