So long we have heard of injuries or even deaths of cricketers on the cricket ground. But this is the first time that a spectator has been injured severely while watching a cricket match.  It is reported that he is a constable of Calcutta Police and was at the gallery of Eden Gardens, Calcutta as a spectator when the unfortunate incident happened.  Kings Eleven Punjab was then batting against the Kolkata Knight Riders in an IPL match. Suddenly a sixer by David Miller hit him on the right eye. The injury was so severe that the damaged eye had to be enucleated immediately to prevent sympathetic ophthalmia.
