In my 30 years of existence, that was the first time I got the chance to visit Intramuros. huwat!! hmmmm..yeah you read it right...
I went there with my friend last January 31, 2014, after Binondo during Chinese New Year. (oooppsss, another first).
What I like the place is that, it is located in the city yet it's so relaxing. A calm and peaceful place sa gitna ng sementadong gubat.
I thought we can walk around Intramuros, but gosh! it's a no no. not beacause we have limited time but the place is big. I'm glad we take the pedicab tour which cost us 400 - 500 pesos for almost 3 hours. You can try Kalesa but in a much higher price. Manong driver will also be your tourist guide. Aha! they know a lot.
Intramuros
(Latin: within the walls) is the historic centre and oldest district of Manila, the capital city of the Philippines.
Also known as the Ciudad Murada (Walled City) because of its most famous feature: a nearly three-mile-long circuit of massive stone walls and fortifications that almost completely surrounds the entire district. (source: wikitravel.org)
See some of my pictures:
Manila Cathedral is located inside Intramuros.
