Islam is Arabic word which means submission. Surrender and obedience. As religion it stands for complete submission and obedience to Allah.  

Another meaning of the world Islam is peace which means that a person can achieve real pace only through submission and obedience to Allah. Its aims is to create and develop in man the attitude of submission to the divine will. Anyone who enters the fold of Islam and claims to be a Muslim has to obey Allah in all matters. It is related that the holy prophet p.b.u.h was once asked, what is Islam? To which he replied, obedience to Allah’s commandments and kindness to his creatures.
