Two years ago a PIL was filed in Bombay High Court against corruption in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Supreme Court of India came into action and appointed a three-judgepanel, headed by ex-Chief Justice of India RM Lodha. The panel has punished IPL teams Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals because their officials were involved in betting. The panel has banned both the teams from taking part in the IPL for two years.
