The Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) Institute has a little bit of competition this week, with the exciting new discoveries unearthed by the Scientists Searching for Extraterrestrial Lifeforms (SSETL).  The group of 10 young men grew interested in the venture of looking for Extraterrestrial Intelligence on their own after seeing the millions of dollars in grants and research funding that was recycled back into SETI for staffing and overhead costs.

The Team

With backgrounds ranging from Energy Healing, to Rocket Engineering, and even an autistic man who calls himself a “Trekkie,” the group works on an all-volunteer basis.  The mission statement reads “To further the study search and impacts of the extraterrestrial life found in the galaxies beyond Earth and our local solar system.  Live long and prosper.”

They jokingly nudge Ben, the autistic man who begins to recite the episode name and number of every Star Trek episode that featured the former quote.

“We almost called ourselves Trekkies Searching for Extraterrestrial Lifeforms,” President and founder, Jacob Robertson explained while snortling, “but we weren’t sure that people would take us seriously.  We come from an eclectic variety of backgrounds, but one thing that solidifies this group is our mutual love for Star Trek.”

Star Trek was a popular movie in the 1970’s that also translated over into a syndicated TV series.  Popular phrases included, “live long and prosper, highly illogical, and Luke, I am your father.”  Very intense fans are generally referred to as “Trekkies” and that is where the group first received the moniker from their peers.

For the past 18 months, SSETL has been working on a patent for their first Extraterrestrial Communication Apparatus (ETCA).  The apparatus utilizes crystals and the conductor aluminum along with mercury based vacuum tube technology to “talk” with extraterrestrial lifeforms.

The Science

The signals are received through the aluminum receivers and translated into AM frequency wavelengths.  Signals received from the apparatus are released back into the atmosphere with messages from the men involved with the project.

The crystal element originated from the Energy Healer, Mike Pombrian.  He cited them as absolutely necessary and severely lacking from the terminals and receivers built by organizations such as SETI.  He stated he felt that the type of acceleration necessary to accurately observe these new wavelengths was only attainable with a catalyst of sorts, such as the crystals he affixed to the ETCA.

When speaking of the crystals, Dr Pombrian explains that for his primary crystal base, he utilizes a mixture of quartz for amplified energy and protection, garnet to showcase the commitment to the project, and orange moss agate to help abate his own, personal sexual issues.  These crystals are 100% integral to linking our AM radio stations to theirs.  The white noise available is the only catalyst for these noises to be transferred.

The correspondences received are largely over the white noise for the group of scientists.  Nothing has been received over dead air, or over local noise.  The white noise seems to be a direct means of communication for these alien entities.

“Think about a tape-deck receiver for your smart phone,” President Jacob Robertson explained, “you have to find a radio station playing only white noise, and then play in your favorite Pandora station, be it Nickelback, Bon Jovi, or whathaveyou.”

If there is no white noise, there is no sweet serenading Jon Bon Jovi.

As for anything thus received, the wavelengths have not sounded anything familiar to anything uttered by the human race.  The team of researchers have run the sounds through Google translate and other translating and available software to no current avail.

The sounds reported are not human, they instead sound like roughly fifteen small children opening and closing their mouths in different rhythms while covered and filled with paste.   The muffled and low pitched moaning with a slight sense of increasing urgency has been being consistently relayed through the apparatus for 3 consecutive weeks.

The team of scientists and researchers are baffled.  The one thing they are sure of, though, is the apparatus, as shown below, is a ground breaking and necessary tool of our generation.
