One of the main shoots that i was to go on was James Harris' shoot. This shoot was to be based in Warwickshire and James had organised us to stay at his place over roughly two and a half days. The production seemed incredibly well planned and I was very impressed without the amount of thought and work put into his production file. He had planned everything to the last detail and every meeting that i went to, there would always be some changes but he always had a contingency. Watching James prepare for his shoot really taught me the importance of the production file and preparation which made it much more annoying that could not make the shoot. I was to be the "sound guy" on the shoot so boom operator with an attached marantz. This was an important job and i really wanted to do well so I attended every meeting and made sure I stayed in close contact with James. However, two days before the shoot I realised that I had been scheduled a meeting with John Holden to go through our upcoming Film Theories presentation. This clashed with the dates of James' shoots and I was forced to miss the travel arrangements to his house. I tried to see if i could go down the next day but instead we worked out it would be better to get someone else to go in my place. This was totally unfortunate and taught me to manage my time better however, the fact that we were told on the monday our times, I find rather poor on the courses part that i could not go to James' shoot which would of been not only helpful to my Hours, but my personal professional improvement.
