Anime which is short for animation, is probably the reason why many Mexican teens want to live in Japan. This form of animation from Japan captivates teens with its storylines, art style, animation methods and specially with its characters which become dear and memorable to the audience, both teens and adults. Just like music, movies and books, there are many genres in Anime, shojo (girls), Shoune (boys)  kodomo (chlidren´s), adventure, sci-fi, ecchi, Yaoi, Romance, Gore, etc.

 

Some of the anime productions are based on the Manga versions. The first ever anime appeared in Japan in the 1917 and has evolved since then. Within the Anime world there are many films that have marked the history of this form of art. 

The popularity of Anime in Mexico is quite considerable that there is even a small plaza in downtown Mexico City where you can get all your favorite titles and some original Japanese products. You can also buy from posters to actual clothings used by some characters.
