According to Bouncer Chronicles John Legend performed at the grand opening of the Oculus Mall at Ground Zero recently. The performance was for VIPs and thousands of shoppers that lined the balconies of the new mall. Legend addressed the crowd saying "I've lived in New York for a very long time. I was here back in 2001 when the city was broken but we are strong now and we are able to rebuild."

Also performing were Leslie Odom, Jr and The Harlem Gospel Choir.
