Hello fans, members, and those addicted to ÉCU! Don’t worry, the June Newsletter has arrived, so take a seat and enjoy this monthly update. As you know, ÉCU organized a special screening at Café Coutume in Paris and it was successful. ÉCU screened two films that won awards at the 2011 festival – Paths of Hate and Salam Rugby. Guests really enjoyed the films and there were some great discussions over drinks after the screening. Missed the screening? Don’t worry, ÉCU will be offering an opportunity for you to catch up by attending our next screening that will take place at the end of June! So stay tuned by checking out our website! June was also the beginning of our 2011 “ÉCU on the Road” tour. Scott Hillier, ÉCU president, attended « The Inspire Film Festival » in the UK where Stanley Pickle, winner of the ÉCU 2011 student category, was screened. Scott took the time to speak with the young filmmakers, a good way for ÉCU to discover new talent! ÉCU will also be visiting Italy, Portugal, the United States, Russia, Jordan, Romania, and Georgia this summer. ÉCU also had a presentation at Sentieri Selvaggi Film School in Rome, Italy, where Scott talked to students about filmmaking, gave some useful tips to new and upcoming talent. A quick reminder: submissions for the seventh edition of the ÉCU Film Festival, which will take place from March 30th to April 1st 2012, are now open! So don’t wait any longer to submit!
