Kapalong Cave (Davao del Norte, Philippines)

The nine caves of Kapalong in Davao del Norte Province have only been recently classified by speleologist. The tresures they found within have prompted the national government to place some of these caves under protection to safeguard the fragile ecosystems that thrive within the caves protective darkness. Luckily, four of those caves are open  for adventure seekers, including the more famous Okbot-named after a local medicine man who was believed  to perform sacred rituals in the cave. Navigating through them will reward caving enthusiasts with the sight of delicate draperies, grand columns, and other magnificent speleothems.
