Current province of Kapisa which its capital is Mahmood Raqi is surrounding with few provinces; form north and east Parwan and Laghman Provinces; Parwan Province and Kabul province- which is the capital of Afghanistan- are laid with south and west of Kapisa

According to the geologists, ancient Kapisa is a fertile plain and a rectangle shape place which has extent of one hundred kilometers on north and south and south fifty kilometers on the east and west.
This place is located between Kunar province and Hindukush Mountains that contains below places:
Kohdaman, Kohestan, Bagram, Tagab, Nejrab and rest of related places.
According to its geographic location, Kapisa is a main way of Hindukush and a big and authoritative religious and commercial path between India and Bakhtar. Nowadays there are few historical places that due to digging many significant historic works have received. As well as there is many other historic works in Petaw, Isterghech, Charikar, Jabalusaraj, Panjsher, Bagram, Burje Abdullah, Kohe top, Nejrab and etc.
Kapisa’s extended and beautiful plain have a great position in Islamic civilization history according to its old traditions and religion as well as according to commerce, manufacturing and politics. Its capital Bagram was the capital of Great Afghanistan for one thousand year from second century A.D. up to end of seventh century A.D.
It is mentionable that into many historical references, this Province capital (Bagram) is also cited Kapisi (Kapishi, Ki – Pen); as Chinese visitor Hiwnag Tising have estimated encompassing of its Capital Two miles and called its center (Ka-pi-shi) and Fosha a French scholar have believed that (Ka-pi-shi) is same to the Bagram.
