Life of women in Pakistan is not easy. Every day new cases of sexual assault, rape, Vani, and Karo kari emerges at the stage of Pakistan. Some of these cases raise goose bumps and chill you to the marrow. Recently a case of Karo kari happened in the Shakarpur city in which the jirga ( a council if elder or respectful persons of area) kill two young girl at the name of Karo kari as they marry the men of their own choice and ask their husband to pay 2 million to the family of girls as they elope with them and if they do not want to be killed like girls. This jirga was presided over by one of the parliamentarian mister Ghaus buskhs Mehr.
This news really make me dumb struck, sadden by heart and make me think that what is women fate is in this country when the minister of this country are giving order to kill a girl just because she marry by her own choice as her own religion Islam give her permission then how can she use the law of country for her protection. Well it is well said that law and power lies in the pocket of politician in Pakistan and they can do what ever they want to do.
Karo kari is a tradition well practice in Pakistan specially in the Provence Sindh. Karo kari is basically the killing of women or a man in which the person is killed of her immoral behaviour or having flirtatious nature, demand of divorce or if she refuse to submit her to arrange marriage. Mostly 99% of girls become the victim of this barbaric tradition, in Pakistan women live in the strict code of honor and even a small doubt about defiling the honor of family is enough for the murder of women.
According to the estimate every year about more then five thousand girls become the victim of Karokari tradition. Some time the murder of these poor girls are so brutal, they are fed alive to the dog in front of whole community or some time they were raped, they shaved their head and blacken their face and then kill them in front of whole community. Some time the family don't kill the girl but they cut their nose as revenge and they live their whole life shun by Society every soul in the society despise them and they live the life of an animal.
According to the Law the Karo kari act come in the article of murder and the person who is involve in this act has a punish of fourteen year in jail or some time they were hang to the death but just 25% people who were involve were punished. There are several things due to which these people are not getting punished one of the most important is the lack of education, due to illiteracy people think these tradition as right as they are punishing the people who has demolished the family name and they do-not complain about the any person who was involve in these acts
