Keeping a Clean House While Homeschooling

Posted on at

Homeschooling alone is a tough and time-consuming task but when housekeeping adds up to the list of responsibilities, you may feel a little overwhelmed. How do you keep your home sparkling while homeschooling? Read on to find out our suggestions.

Teach your children to clean up after themselves

If you like doing everything for your children, you may want to ponder upon your actions. Truth be told, it is pretty admirable that you are always there for your kids, helping and supporting them, cleaning and cooking for them, however, it never hurts to let them cope with some situations on their own. So why not involve them in the cleaning process? This will teach them a helpful life skill that they can use anywhere and at any age.

Easier said than done. How do you coax your 10-year old girl into cleaning up her own mess? Well, it takes some time to explain to them the importance of a clean and organized work/homeschooling area. You want your kids to know that whoever makes a mess should clean it. Teach them that they should put away all their school supplies after they finish their lessons.

Where it can go wrong: if you expect too much from your offspring. Remember that they are still children and they are not likely to clean their work area to perfection.

 Have a daily chore list

End Of Tenancy Cleaning W5 are advising you to make it a habit to do certain tasks on certain days of week. Do ironing on Sundays, dust on Mondays, vacuum on Tuesdays, clean the bathroom on Wednesdays, sweep and mop the floors on Thursdays and so on and so forth.

Note that there are tasks you should do on the daily, such as washing the dishes. Make sure to wash the dishes after each meal. Don't let them pile up all day. The sooner you wash them, the better.

Moreover, have your children help you clear the table after lunch. Instruct them to make their beds each morning and to pick up their clutter. They can also empty the trash bin for you.

Where it can go wrong: if you strive for perfection. Housekeeping is a constant battle. Not a day goes by that you don't tackle household chores. And with kids around housework is a never-ending cycle. Don't put up with dirt but don't go to extremes either.

Do some tasks before you go to bed

The best way to tackle all household chores is when the house is empty and quiet. However, when kids are present, this is mission impossible. So, the best way to go is to pick a time when your kids are likely to be quiet, for example, when they are asleep. It's best to leave some things for that moment when you send your kids to bed. You'll have the whole house just for you and you'll be able to focus on the chores instead of yelling at your offspring.

Where it can go wrong: if you leave too many tasks for the evening, you risk spending the night cleaning rather than resting.

Have a break

Last but not least, don't forget to give yourself a break every now and then. Take some time for yourself. Housework is still going to be there when you get back home. There is no need to be a slave. Nothing is going to work if you stress over the chores. Take it easy, some things can wait. Don't be a perfectionist. Be realistic about what you can accomplish on a daily basis and you will never feel stressed out again.

So, we hope following these tips will help you to keep your home clean and tidy while homeschooling.
