Bouncer Chronicles reports that former New York Jets star wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson, 41,  was arrested recently in California for allegedly roughing up his girlfriend. According to the Los Angeles County sheriff deputies Johnson was arrested and booked on suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery.

The retired football star told friends he did not hit his gal pal but admitted to smashing her cell phone, according to TMZ.

The three time Pro Bowl receiver now works as a studio commentator for ESPN. At the time of his arrest ESPN reps had no comment.
