Koenigsegg One:1 Too Powerful For German Registration

Posted on at

It has now been made clear that Germany is indeed not prepared for cars with more extreme amounts of horsepower like the first production Koenigsegg Agera One:1 that has just been delivered in Germany.

The One:1 has a one-to-one power to weight ratio as it weighs 1341 kg and produces 1341 horsepower. In Germany this is accounted for in kW, which is 1000 kW, and this exact number was the sin in this case as the computer used for registration wasn’t able to read numbers above 999 kW.

This meant that the One:1 was unable to get registered until the problem had been solved by a couple of technicians. The original designers of the registration program probably never thought it would be possible for a car to have more than 1000 kW, but they have now learned that it is.

For the facts, the Koenigsegg Agera One:1 has 1341 horsepower connected to a 5.0 litre V8 and a specially developed 7-speed dual clutch which sprints from 0-400 km/h in just 20 seconds. 400-0 km/h takes no more than 10 seconds though, and this car is now driving on the German roads.
