Bollywood actor Kunal Kapoor has partnered with an NGO to help raise funds for the victims of floods in Jammu and Kashmir.
This is the worst floods to hit the northern state in six decades and the the death toll due to the floods, landslides and house collapses triggered by torrential monsoon rains since Tuesday last, is around 200.
The 36-year-old Rang De Basanti star and Care India have joined hands to raise funds that will be utlilised to distribute survival kits to the affected families and individuals in J&K.
The kits would include basic amenities for survival such as tarpaulin, mats, hygiene Kit (Soap ,toothbrush, toothpaste, sanitary napkins & disinfectants soaps) and blankets.
"In association with an NGO, I have started a fundraiser to help raise money for the terrible situation in Kashmir!! The situation is far worse than you can imagine. And people are in need of immediate help. You can help them," tweeted Kapoor urging people to make contribution.
"Every contribution, no matter how small, matters. You can contribute by cash, cheque or card. Help Now," he added.
